It's been just over a year since I published my new website. I now focus my consulting on Communication – Negotiation – Mediation. Presenting myself in this new role was only the first challenge. The next, and much bigger challenge was yet to come: the realisation that success doesn't happen overnight. It has, however, taught me a few lessons that will make it easier on my path to success (as I define it). This includes the following maxims:
To perfect something, you must create it first. Rather start imperfect than wait perfect.
Mistakes are part of the process – if you don’t want to make them, you’ll never try anything new.
Comparing is the end of happiness and the beginning of discontent.
Patience is a tree with bitter roots but a very sweet fruit.
